Gummy's demise
May 16, 2004:     motivated by advancing senility
The old order changeth, yielding place to new,
And God fulfills Himself in many ways,
Lest one good custom should corrupt the world ...

>Huh? What's that about?
I was thinking ...

>It's about time!
Pay attention!
I was thinking that I've spent ten years writing gummy_stuff and I think I might move on to something else.
I ain't gettin' any younger and I thought I might go back to painting and writing and ...

>What about gummy_stuff?
I'll stick everything at gummy-stuff.org * (where I have 1000 Mbytes of space for just $60/year
... so I'll avoid having to pay $600/year for disk space at golden.net) and ...

>And gummy_stuff? You'll fawgeddabadit?
Forget about it? Yes, I guess ... unless I work up some enthusiasm.

>More enthusiasm compared to ... uh, painting?
Yes. Over the next few weeks all of gummy_stuff on golden.net will be deleted**, but will still be available at gummy-stuff.org.

>Okay, so you're talking about gummy_stuff's demise ... not gummy's demise. Right?
Uh ... not yet.

>So, are you happy with all that gummy stuff? Has it been fun?
Yeah, happy ... and fun. One goal was to make it to the top of the google list. That happened and now I can turn to another venture.

>Well, it's been fun talkin' to ya. Have a great time with your painting. Enjoy yourself.
Thanks. I intend to ...

* While I'm setting up gummy-stuff.org you might find gummy_stuff (with lots of ads!!) living at gummy.0catch.com

In the past (pre-May, 2004) I had to stick stuff on golden.net and some at geocities.com and on 0catch.com ('cause of lack of diskspace). When gummy-stuff.org is finished, everything will be there

** While the deletions take place you'll notice gummy_stuff at golden.net slowly decaying ...

  • Pre-May, 2004 you could search gummy_stuff at golden.net (using the freefind.com search engine).
  • After the gummy-stuff.org site is finished (June, 2004 ?) you'll no longer be able to search on golden.net.
(Well, you can search but they won't hardly be anything there, eh?)
  • By June, 2004 I'll have everything stored on gummy-stuff.org and you'll be able to search there.

Special Note

Because I intend to give up on all that financial stuff - it's become too exhausting responding to e-mails that request tutorials and/or spreadsheets or comments/suggestions/explanations/answers/etc. - I'll still be happy to get your e-mail
... but my response may not be what you may have expected in the past.

    Regards to y'all
